The situation for NT point guard is getting difficult. Yen Shin-shu, who suffered waist and back injury during BCC Mars' China tour last week, could be lost for the upcoming Jones Cup Tournament and the Asian Games.
With the likely starter Yen out, Taiwan NT is left with two PGs - Chen Chih-chun and Lee Chi-ming. Chen hasn't been at his peak since the A-League regular season started in late March. Meanwhile, Lee is only an 18-year-old incoming college freshman with zero international competition experience. Plus, he was a high school shooting guard who's still learning to be a PG.
Talk has been brought up that urges Taiwan NT to adopt SINA veterans, like PG Chou Jun-san, SG Lo Shin-liang and F/C Huang Chun-hsiung. But NT head coach Chien Yi-fei insisted that he will not add anyone to the current 14-man roster(minus the injured Yen Shin-shu and Lee Fong-yong/Chang Chih-feng, both are in China preparing for the Division-1B season).
Yen Shin-shu could be out for as many as six months.
