CTBA reaffirmed the appointment of Chou Jun-san as the Taiwan men's national team head coach as local media reported that a local sports firm was pressing the association to hire a foreign coach.

Several local newspapers reported that Chou, the TB assistant who was named Taiwan NT head coach, and Yen Chia-hua, the TB head coach who was omitted in the selection process of the NT head coach but was expected to be named by Chou as his NT assistant, were trying to recruit Golden State Warrior Jeremy Lin to play for Taiwan.
They were also trying to include Jet Chang, who won the MVP honor in this year's NCAA Div-II Final Four after leading BYU-Hawaii to the championship game, it was reported.
A sports firm reportedly recommended the CTBA to hire former Seattle Sonics head coach Bob Weiss, who later coached in China, to lead Taiwan NT in the upcoming FIBA Asia men's championship.
Jeremy Lin is sponsored by NIKE. Jet Chang was sponsored by the brand.
The CTBA denied the reports and said it will not rescind Chou's appointment.
