Including host Taiwan, eight countries will send their national teams that will participate in the upcoming Asian Men's Championship to the 2007 William Jones Cup International Tournament, Chinese Taipei Basketball Association (CTBA) said.
South Korea, Qatar, Philippines, Jordan, Lebanon, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Taiwan will place their full national team in the annual tournament, which will be played from July 2 - 10 in Sinjhuang Stadium, Taipei County, (Capacity 7,000), for the final preparation of the Asian Men's Championship, which will take place in Tokushima, Japan from July 28 - August 5.
Japan will send its World University Games men's NT to Taiwan. The Athelete in Action (AIA) team from the U.S. will be coming back to defend its title, CTBA said.
CTBA said it has learned that Philippines NT will be one of the strongest ever as the Philippines did not participate in the previous Asian Championship and Asian Games in Qatar because of domestic dispute. Hundreds of thousands of overseas Filipino workers who currently work in Taiwan will be happy to see their beloved national team to return to Taiwan.
