  2. Hello Jon Sanders,
I was watching some videos about Taiwan on YouTube, including your "10 Most Interesting Things" series. I'd just like to comment on a couple of things in the video:
Defecating in a squatting position is more physiologically efficient and easier on the body than sitting Western style, and leads to less straining at the stool.
Although it has devastating effects on the teeth when chewed, Betel Nut has some beneficial medicinal effects on the body, and is used in Chinese medicine. The nuts stimulate digestion and intestinal peristalsis, and are useful for expelling parasites, especially tapeworm. The husks are used for certain types of edema resulting from a weak and devitalized digestion.
Nevertheless, I really enjoyed your videos. Good job!
I used to live in Taiwan when I was a little boy; my father was a diplomat, and was stationed there. I really loved the Chinese Opera, and went religiously every Sunday morning, the way many people go to church. I have been thinking of returning there to live in the near future.
    Ni Hau!
