Week 9 MVP: Chen Shun-hsiang

Finally, Bank of Taiwan has something to proud of in the dismal season. Sharp-shooting Chen Shun-hsiang was named Week 9 MVP after a brilliant week and leading the team to a double overtime win over Taiwan Beer, its third win of the season.

Chen averaged 21.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists for the week. He is currently the league's 4th leading scorer, averaging 18.5 points per game.

The 190cm forward/shooting guard made the headline last week when he described Bank of Taiwan, ranked dead last in the league as a "lonely theatrical company that no one wants to see."

Chen was also quoted by the media saying that even if BOT is a censer, he won't allow anyone to stick an incense into the burner, which in Chinese means that he wouldn't let anyone intimidate BOT even if the team is weak.

Last but not the least, Chen said he watched the HBL championship game last week. After seeing his alma mater Song Shan High School rallied from 15 points down and won the back-to-back title, he was reminded what his coach in high school, Huang Wan-long, told him -- never forget your passion when you first fell in love with the game -- and felt inspired.

"I will never give up. I want to win so bad, " he said.
