2011 Asian Championship: Iran bruise Taiwan in Wuhan

Iran outgunned Taiwan in the classification round of Asian Championship in Wuhan. Iran will now play for the fifth place at the tournament. Hamed Haddadi (218-C-85) posted 21 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists to pace the winners.
Iran scored 21 points in the starting quarter to surge ahead. They established a 21:16 lead after ten minutes. Iran opened the second term on a 15:0 run to clear off. Iran enjoyed a comfortable 48:31 lead at the interval. Iran stretched the gap in the third quarter. They piled up a 25-point lead at the final intermission. Taiwan had no chances in the fourth term as Iran coasted to the victory. Hamed Afagh (190-G-83, agency: SportsList Inc.) and Mahdi Kamrani (186-PG-82) posted 18 points each for Iran. Kazemi added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Wu Tai-Hao (202-C-85, college: BYU-Hawaii) replied with 16 points for Taiwan. Wen-Ting Tseng (202-C/F-84) netted 13 points in the loss.
