Jeremy Lin mulling to play for Taiwan: report

Golden State Warriors guard Jeremy Lin does not rule out the possibility to play for Taiwan in Asian competitions after meeting with Ting Shou-chung, the President of the Chinese Taipei Basketball Association (CTBA), last week in San Francisco, local media reported.

Former NBA head coach and current Tokyo Apache head coach Bob Hill will become the technical consultant for the Taiwan NT during the East Asian Basketball Championship and the FIBA Asia Championship this year, local media reported.

Taiwan announces final roster for EABC

The Chinese Taipei Basketball Association on Friday announced the final roster for the upcoming East Asian Basketball Championship, the qualifying tournament for the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship.

The 12-man lineup is led by three core players who played last season in China, including former Taiwan Beer forward Lin Chih-chieh and a pair of ex-Yulon Luxgen stars -- forward Chen Hsin-an and point guard Lee Hsueh-lin.

Former NT coach accused of extramarital affairs

Former Yulon Luxgen and Taiwan NT head coach Lee Yung-kwang was accused by his wife of having extramarital affairs, Taiwan media reported this past week, sending a shockwave through local basketball community.

According to media report, Lee's wife filed a lawsuit against Lee, who is now an associate professor at Taipei Physical Education College, for committing adultery with a 29-year-old girl.

Taiwan NT having trouble with injury and…basketball

Chen Tse-wei became the latest casualty down with injury as the 200cm Dacin forward withdrew from the national team training camp for the 2011 EABC, according to head coach Chou Jun-san.
So far, Chen, Tien Lei and Chang Chih-feng -- coincidentally, all three came from Dacin, have decided to sit out the EABC.

BYHU's Wagner instructing Taiwan NTs

Ken Wagner, head coach of the U.S. NCAA Div-II school BYU-Hawaii, gave two Taiwan national teams instruction during his short stay in Taiwan, local media reported.

Wagner, who led BYUH to the NCAA Div-II men's championship game this year, was brought in by NIKE Taiwan to coach in its Taiwan summer camp and help train Taiwan's U19 NT, which is going to Latvia for the FIBA U19 World Championship.

South Korea announces 12-man roster for EABC

According to FIBA Asia, South Korea has announced its 12-man roster for the EABC. Since South Korea should have no problem finishing among the top three besides China, I don't think the roster is that important.

The situation in the EABC is clear, unless Mongolia and Hong Kong pull off major upsets in the tournament, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan are expected to win the three seeds for the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship in Wuhan, China.

Lin Chih-chieh re-signs with Zhejiang: report

Lin Chih-chieh has re-signed with Zhejiang Lions for three years with an annual salary of 1.8 million Chinese Yuan (US$277,220), an 80 percent increase from his previous contract with the team, the Chinese language newspaper Liberty Times reported.

Players report to Taiwan NT training camp

Players reported to Taiwan NT training camp for the East Asian Basketball Championship (EABC) Tuesday as Taiwan NT head coach Chou Jun-san nominated Liu Hua-lin as his second assistant.

Nineteen of 24 players on the preliminary rosters reported to the camp in Taipei for the preparation of the EABC which will be held in Nanjing, China from June 8 to June 15.

The Chinese Taipei Basketball Association approved the 24-man preliminary roster of Taiwan men's NT for the East Asian Basketball Championship, a qualifier for the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship for Men, submitted by Taiwan NT head coach Chou Jun-san Friday.
Six oversea players, including the trio playing in China -- Lin Chih-chieh, Chen Hsin-an and Lee Hsueh-lin, Tseng Wen-ting, who is playing for BJ League's Osaka Evessa in Japan, and the pair playing in the U.S. -- Jet Chang and Chou Yi-hsiang.
