Former NBA head coach and current Tokyo Apache head coach Bob Hill will become the technical consultant for the Taiwan NT during the East Asian Basketball Championship and the FIBA Asia Championship this year, local media reported.

The Chinese Taipei Basketball Association (CTBA) confirmed Hill's hiring after Taiwan media cited a report of Japan Times. The CTBA said Hill will be hired from June to September, when the FIBA Asia Championship takes place in Wuhan, Hubei, China from September 15-25.

Hill, 62, coached New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers, San Antonio Spurs and Seattle Sonics and holds an all-time NBA coaching record of 312-293. He was also head coach at Fordham University between 1999 and 2003.

According to the Central News Agency, Taiwan NT head coach Chou Jun-san said Hill is scheduled to arrive in Taipei early June to help him with the training camp.

The veteran coach is now head coach at Tokyo Apache, one of 13 teams of Japan's BJ League.
