Four Asian teams to meet in ABA Three Goodness Championship

Four teams from Taiwan, Japan, China and South Korea will meet in the ABA Three Goodness Championship which begins today in the southern city of Kaohsiung, the second largest city in Taiwan.

The invitational tournament is co-organized by former FIBA Asia chairman Cheng Man-ky of Hong Kong and Taiwan’s Fo Guang Shan, a Buddhism organization. All the games will be played at I-Shou University Gymnasium.

Participating teams include Pure Youth Construction, the defending champion of Taiwan’s semi-pro league SBL; Japan’s Yokohama B-Corsairs, which finished 31-21 for 2nd in the Eastern Division and the third place in the BJ League playoffs; South Korea’s Changwon LG Sakers, which was 21-33 last season and ranked 7th in the 10-team KBL; China’s Guangdong Southern Tigers, which won five of the last six titles in China’s CBA and finished 27-5 last season.

The tournament will be broadcast by Videoland Sports. Tickets (NT$300, NT$250) could be purchased at Family Mart’s ticket system.
