California Asian Traveling Stars Cats routed Nenren High School, 113-78, in the championship of a friendship tournament on July 14 and won the tourney undefeated, averaging an eye-popping 27.3-point winning margin in three games.

Sanmin High School beat Nanshan High School, 64-58, to win the bronze medal, while Chiangshu High School beat Zhong-min High School, 71-50, in the 5th-place game.

California Asian Traveling Stars visited Taiwan from July 12 - 14 for a friendship tournament that features Cats and six Taiwan high school teams.

The visiting team consists of Asian American high school players in California and is led by former Taiwan NT player Sun Chia-kang, who now lives in California. The three-day tournament is sponsored by Costco Wholesale Taiwan, which is now headed by former Taiwan NT player Richard Chang.

Richard Chang, 6-7, played for the University of California at Berkeley in early 1980's. He came back to Taiwan and joined Taiwanese national team before embarking upon his personal career in business.
