SBL schedule resumes; Yulon pounded Videoland

The SBL regular season resumed after the two-week Lunar New Year break Friday as Yulon pounded Videoland 90-76 and Taiwan Beer cruised past Azio 95-72.

In a strange scheduling, the annual SBL All-Star Game will be played Sunday after three games tomorrow. Why the league insists on playing a couple meaningless games the day BEFORE the All-Star Game every year has been always beyond my grasp, however.

The most notable fact today was that Chou Jun-san, who was traded to Taiwan Beer from ETSN before the season started to exchange for former TB coach Chiu Da-tsun, made his debut as a player this season. Chou, who has been serving as an assistant coach this season, showed no signs of aging by collecting 2 points and 7 assists in 22 minutes.

Yulon surrounded VL import Jonathan Sanders with two 6-8 players Tsun Wen-din and Wu Chih-wei and successfully limited Sanders to a 2-of-12 shooting and his season-low 5 points for the victory.

Videoland, which opened the season 7-0, has lost 5 of its last 6 games.
