Taiwan lost to China 84-81 on Feb. 1 and is now 1-3 in the preliminary games of the Asian U-18 Women's Championship, which is taking place in Bangkok, Thailand.
Taiwan has an off day Friday and will meet Thailand Saturday. If Taiwan beats the host it is expected to advance to the semifinal round as a No.4 seed and meet top seed Japan.
Taiwan U-18 women's NT, which only dressed up 10 players for the game because two players had to go back to Taiwan for college entrance exam, led 43-38 at halftime.
China fought back in the second half. Tsun Meilin scored 11 points in the third period as China led by three in the end of this period. China kept at least two players over 190cm on the court at the final period to keep Taiwan from a final rally.
Tsun Meilin led China with 28 points. Yang Shu-ching's 16 paced Taiwan.
