Korea wins 2009 Jones Cup women's competition

Korea's Shinhan Bank S-Birds manhandled Taiwan 67-48 Thursday night to win the 2009 Jones Cup women's competition champion, finishing the tournament 5-0.

Shinhan Bank was obviously a better team with a core of Ha Eun-joo and Jung Sun-min. Ha had 12 points and 8 rebounds in 14 minutes while Jung had a team-high 16 points as Korea pulled the game away early. Lee Youn-hoa also had 10 points.

Taiwan was led by Lee Wan-ting, who scored 14 on 7-of-9 shooting, but was hurt by 19 turnovers.

Japan beat Malaysia 85-40 to finish for third-place in the four-team tournament.
